The museum of local history
resides at the Adelsheim Palace and comes with
a comprehensive collection of local handicraft, the
"Berchtesgadener War" and testimonials of the cultural and historic
development of the ancient Princedom Berchtesgaden. The exhibition
shows typical Berchtesgadener handicraft like carvings and splint
boxes, but also historical liveries and period furniture
as well as numerous testimonials of
the Berchtesgadener history.
In addition a showroom provides the opportunity to purchase
authentic local art. Numerous exhibitors
of Berchtesgadener handcraft, e.g. splint box producers, tailors
for liveries, goldsmiths, potters, blue printers,
marmoreal-bowl-grinders, chisellers ...
